Vegans and Real Estate

What do Vegans and Real Estate have in common? Well, consider how you would set out to pick an agent. Better yet, ask any agent how and they will give you a “criteria” that they happen to fill nicely.

And why wouldn’t they? Every agent offers something slightly different than the rest. We are all human. (Though some people would disagree when it comes to real estate agents!!)

I’ve been thinking about this since coming across this article on a vegetarian agent who is using that as his angle in San Francisco. How did I find this article? I Googled “Vegan Real Estate Agent.” That’s right folks, I’m a vegan. And, just like everyone else on the planet, I seek out like-minded individuals. Perhaps, dear reader, that is the answer to picking a real estate agent. You need to like them, to connect with them on some level.

I’ve been asked why I work as part of a team with my colleague, Nick. The answer is simple – we play off each other’s strengths. We can connect with people in different ways, so that our clients feel comfortable with one (or both) of us. We want our clients to feel comfortable, especially since the buying and selling process can get pretty personal as we talk about money and your specific housing needs!

So, if you are a vegan or vegetarian and want an agent with whom you can share recipe ideas, talk about alternative wall-mounted deer heads (like the ones above!), and cringe with when you walk into a house that has just fried up a bunch of fish right before the showing (it happens, bad idea all around, but it happens), I want to talk to you. Let’s meet up over a soy latte and define your real estate needs. We both know that there’s more to us than being veg, and we both know that sometimes working with someone who is, is just easier.

P.S. My spouse is an omnivore. And Nick is an omnivore. We vegan’s are accepting people. Don’t shy away just because you are an omnivore, too! We can find other ways to connect, I’m sure of it.
