Real Estate Plain Language Forms. Blind Faith Not Required.

We had to take a handful of courses to become real estate agents. These courses went over a whole slew of topics, took hours and hours to get through and packed us full of information.

One thing went over in detail was the forms that we use. Good thing too – these things were written by a team of angry lawyers who are seriously detail oriented!

We are all constantly asked to click “I accept” or “I agree” when it comes to a new app, program or signing up for a site and let’s face it: the list of terms we are agreeing to is so long that most of us just agree blindly. South Park even did an episode where agreeing to the iTunes terms and conditions without reading them resulted in disaster for the user, Kyle.

Alas, buying and selling real estate is just a little more serious than updating to the latest version of iTunes. Along with the offer there are a number of other contracts and forms we will have to complete. They are all provided by the Ontario Real Estate Association (OREA) and while they are very thorough and protect you legally, they aren’t written in a straightforward manner.

Fortunately, real estate plain language forms are available and we can send them to you so you can become familiar with them before it’s go time.

Keener? Here’s a link to the Toronto Real Estate Board where they are posted:

And, not to pass the buck to a PDF, we will sit down with you and go over the forms clause by clause. It will be fun, kinda like the dentist is fun, but at least this way you won’t feel like Kyle did on South Park!
