Oh my, Darling, what a cute lane you have.

Easily found if you are a Cabbagetowner and a fan of Pizza Pizza, Darling Lane must be the only laneway marked with a Pizza Pizza at either end. Fortunately, it has more going for it than that!

Named after an area contractor William Darling, who built the Darling Terraces at 562-566 Parliament St., the lane runs behind them.

When you enter the south end of the lane from Prospect St. things are off to a cheery start with the side of a house painted grass green and adorned with colourful flowers.

One of our favourite features of this lane is the Warehouse Mission’s (http://thewarehousemission.com) space whimsically painted with a man reading the paper on a park bench and window boxes that bloom year round.

Just across the lane is a graffiti mural by Tokyo! That reads “An Artist Never Blames His Tools!”

No surprise here that it’s located behind Nettleship’s Paint and Hardware (http://www.nettleships.ca/) Which has been a go-to spot for locals since 1920.

And, if you grabbed a slice of pizza to start your walk up Darling Lane and wish you had bought a second, you are in luck!
